1950's Emma Domb Velveteen Day Dress with Satin Trim

"Emma Domb" label. Pumpkin colored cotton or cotton and rayon blend velveteen. Skirt has matching rayon satin trim done as piping along side seams of skirt, and also on either side of front and back skirt. Each band of piping is decorated with  a row of 4 "bows" of satin. The dress is styled with scoop neckline and elbow length sleeves. Fitted at the waist, and very full skirt. Unlined, back metal zipper. In excellent condition. Size small. 1960's Silk Crepe Sheath Gown with Back Drape

No labels found, has paper order tag. A very "Breakfast at Tiffany's" Audrey style gown of ink black silk crepe, and fully lined in black silk. A fitted sheath with a slight inverted "v" shaped empire waist seam. Has decorative and functional pleats from shoulder down sides of V neckline, these pleats create a sort of "shelf" bust effect. There are a set of two pleats at either side of waist. Skirt also has generous back slit for easy walking. The neckline in back plunges and is adorned with a scarf-like drape attached at shoulders. The back drape is decorated with dangling self fabric covered ball-shaped tassels. The gown fastens with back metal zipper. In excellent condition. Size medium. 1950's Bullock's Wilshire Cotton Dress with Sequins

"Bullock's Wilshire" label. A light-weight summer cotton with colorful floral print. A slightly fitted style, with sweetheart neckline decorated with small self bows at corners, cap sleeves, and slightly plunging back neckline, also with self bow at top of zipper placket. Skirt has back kick pleat. Dress fastens with back metal zipper, and is lined. The multi-color sequins are lightly scattered over entire dress. In very good condition, lining at back kick pleat has pulled away from seam a bit, and although all of the sequins appear to be present, there may be one or two missing. Size small. 1960's Mod Blass/Rentner Silk Crepe Dress

"Bill Blass for Maurice Rentner" label. Ink black silk or silk blend crepe gabardine fabric. Dress is A-line style, with fitted bodice and slightly fuller skirt. Strategic seaming details for shape, a V shaped seam above waist and an inverted V shaped seam below waist. Single front pleat on skirt. Dress is fully lined in black cotton blend fabric. 950's Tina Leser Back/Front Embroidered Velveteen Hostess/Occasion Gown

"Tina Leser Original". Because Leser is such an iconic designer and known for her unusual ethnic styles and fabrics, it is increasingly harder to find any of her pre-60's clothing. Every time I acquire a 50's Leser piece, I am newly amazed at how unique the style and combination of fabrics and embellishments are. I have never seen two of the same Tina Leser dresses, never. This early to mid 1950's creation is done in deep forest green (very dark, mossy green) cotton velveteen (or a blend). There is amazing attention to detail, and couture touches. The gown is styled with a fitted bodice and waist, bust is darted for shape. Small rounded collar with silver and pale icy blue floral embroidery (matches back skirt), shirtwaist style button front placket fastens with self covered buttons from waist up. Full length skirt is slim at hips, has inset pockets, and flares out a bit at hem. There is a hidden metal zipper placket on the skirt. The collar and entire placket of dress from collar to hem is finished with silver ribbon with zigzag edges, and silver grosgrain facing. The skirt is expertly lined in a semi-stiff organdy. The dress comes with it's orignal slim self covered belt. The most unusual aspect of this dress is the back skirt, which is covered in matching silver floral embroidery - It is very opulent, and reaches around past sides of skirt so can be seen at side angle. Also trimmed in silver zigzag ribbon. It has a combination of sophistication and playfulness that I love. This gown is in excellent to mint condition. Size medium.
