1950's Rappi Sculptural Silk Taffeta Evening Dress

"Rappi" label. Very nice things from this label. Emerald green silk taffeta with a satin finish. The dress has a sculpted quality. The bodice is fitted, and designed with a pleated neckline treatment that sits off-the-shoulder slightly. There is an attached self belt under the V of the neckline, this belt ties in a bow in back at waist. The waist is fitted and finished with self piping. The skirt is smooth from waist to where the gorgeous pin-tucked pleating begins. The skirt is very full, and evening length. The dress fastens with back metal zipper, and is lined in a cotton muslin fabric. The skirt has it's own crinoline slip of same fabric as lining. The dress is in very very good clean condition. Special dresses like this one go to a cleaners that specialize in fine vintage and bridal wear. Spotless, presents nicely and ready to wear. Size small-medium. 1950's Traina-Norell "New Look" Matte Satin Dress

"Traina- Norell New York" label. Black matte satin, fairly heavy weight - really gorgeous fabric. Dress is styled with plunging rounded neckline with collar. The original insert for the neckline is gone, the owner had the striped insert made which unfastens with snaps. Short cuffed sleeves, fitted waist. Dress has decorative self covered buttons from waist to collar. Skirt is gored and very very full. Skirt is lined, side metal zipper. Inner grosgrain waist cincher belt. Very good condition, dress presents beautifully. There is a 1/4" rip across the underarm seam on front, and there is fraying all along the edges of the hem. Wearable as is, with hemming and the small repair could be near perfect. Also there is a long horizontal run in the fabric on front side skirt, and the lining on underside of skirt is a bit faded. 1960's Roses Print Cotton Festive Dress

No labels, professionally made. Cotton chintz dress with off white background and bright roses print in violet blue, lavender and green. The dress has lots of lovely dress maker details. The waist has a wide inset cummerbund style waist band that is ruched on the side, creating pleating. The dress is decoratively pleated under the bust. The waist is finished with self bows, one in front and two on back waist. The skirt is very full and pleated. Aside from white cotton facing on the wide waistband, the dress is not lined. Fastens with back metal zipper. Excellent condition. Size small-medium. 1940's Novelty "Love Birds" Print Silk Cocktail Dress with Side Swag

No labels found. Late 40's to early 50's. Silk crepe dress has novelty print of doves (looks like "love-y doves") surrounded by lots and lots of pretty flowers, water, and foliage in bright colors. This larger sized dress is styled with slightly fitted waist, bracelet length sleeves with pin-tucked seams at ends, and gorgeous side pleating and swag. The fabric falls straight and smooth, except for the side swag which gives the dress it's glamour. There is a decorative seam at back waist, and the seam has a little shirring. The dress fastens with back metal zipper and is in excellent to mint condition, no flaws found and very little wear. Silk is soft and supple, colors are bright and vivid, seams are tight. Incredible!
