1950's Jerry Gilden Cotton Spectator Dress

"Jerry Gilden Spectator" label. Turquoise cotton poplin fabric. Dress is designed with a strapless bodice that is self lined, the straps start under the bust and are shirred at the shoulders. There is also pleating under bust. The straps create a sweetheart neckline. The waist is fitted and the skirt is pleated and very very full. The skirt is finished with white lace and ribbon for a great contrast to the turquoise. Fastens with back metal zipper. The dress even has it's original matching belt which is always nice! The dress looks hardly worn at all, but does have fairly faint underarm rings. That is the only problem. Size small. Measures 34" bust, 26" waist, free hips, 16" shoulder to waist, 27" waist to hem. 1950's Christian Dior Matte Satin Evening Dress

"Christian Dior New York" and "Ransohoff's" labels. A beautifully tailored and feminine ballerina style little black dress for evening wear in matte silk-satin. Styled with fitted bodice, rounded neckline, and sculpturally pleated sleeves. The skirt has light pleating and is very full. The dress fastens front with a row of self covered buttons, and a hidden snap and hook placket under waist. The dress has an attached back "belt" also decorated with same button, all original to dress. The dress is fully lined in silk organza and beautifully tailored.  In excellent condition, although hidden placket has tiny rip at "v" at bottom of placket- not visible. A classic 50's Dior dress, for a special occasion. Size medium. Measures 16 1/4" shoulder to shoulder seam, 38" bust, 29" waist, free hips, 16" shoulder to waist, 31 1/2" waist to hem. 1950's Lord & Taylor Matte Silk Satin Evening Dress

"Lord and Taylor Fifth Avenue" and "Whitney" labels. Late 50's to early 60's. This is such a gorgeous couture dress! Very Dior in style, construction and quality. The dress is matte black silk satin, the finest. Styled with surplice bodice sculpted with darts, top surplice layer extending down to skirt, this creates the top side layer which is the faux wrap look. Bodice is fitted, plunging neckline, bust is darted, waist is fitted. Skirt has faux wrap front and is attached at the side of waist. Top skirt flap is rounded off at the side/bottom for style, and decoratively pleated. The look is finished with three self bows (they actually look more like flowers) starting at the side waist. The dress is fully lined in silk and has it's own attached silk and horsehair netted crinoline slip. Fastens with back metal zip and hook. In excellent like new condition, but does have a small spot on back of skirt near side seam, and a rip in the back seam of the crinoline slip. Absolutely ink black, no fade. Size small. 1950's Italian Couture Sculptural Strapless Dress with Capri Top

"Mirka de Cibei, via Sislina 94, Roma" label on both dress and jacket. This is an incredible, hand-tailored couture strapless dress with beautiful details and matching cropped jacket. Made of printed silk, in fuchsia, lighter pink and white in an abstract floral design. The dress has a strapless, seamed bodice that is lined and reinforced with stays. The skirt is just beautiful, designed full, with two layers. The top layer has asymmetrical hem (we could call it a peplum), is pleated at side and finished with bow. The bottom layer of skirt is decoratively gathered up and lightly pleated at bottom side of skirt, and finished with matching bow. The bodice is corset style, lined in cream silk taffeta and boned. The skirt is lined in a stiff white horsehair netting. Lots of lovely hand stitching and hand details. The dress fastens with side metal zipper. The matching jacket has self covered buttons up the back, short sleeves, and is cropped above waist length. The jacket is lined in cream silk. The dress is in mint condition, except for stain on bodice lining. The jacket is in excellent condition with no or little wear, but does have some light staining on lining. The stain on the dress lining shows through very slightly. 36C" bust, 28" waist, free hips, 11" top of bodice to waist, and 29 1/2" waist to hem. 1960's Marshall Field 28 Shop Silk Print Dress

"Marshall Field the 28 Shop" label. Very pretty silk scarf print dress in black with rose, fuschia, aqua, red and green floral print. The dress is designed with a scoop neckline, fitted empire waist, and elbow length sleeves with ruffle trim. The Empire waist seam is finished with a band of self fabric. The dress is lined and fastens with back nylon zipper. In very good condition, clean and spotless but has been taken up at shoulder seams and taken in at arm opening a bit. Size small.
