1960's Pauline Trigere Elegant Day to Evening Dress Suit

"Pauline Trigere" red on ivory label, and "Sara Fredericks" label. This dress suit consists of a slightly fitted sheath with hidden inset pockets, and a slightly fitted jacket with color-block detail. The suit is structured, sophisticated and very elegant. Made of a medium weight wool/silk blend in navy blue, with ivory wool color block insets on jacket. I think the insets are brilliant. Both jacket and dress are lined in matching ivory silk. Dress fastens with back zipper and jacket fastens front/side with two large hooks and eyes. In Mint condition. Size large. Dress measures 16 1/2" shoulder edge to edge, 41" bust, 37" waist, 42" hips, 16" shoulder to waist. 1940's Silk Taffeta Princess-Fit Rain Coat

No labels. Indigo blue silk taffeta rain coat with fitted bodice and full skirt. Pleating at sides and back of skirt, nice touch. Wide lapel, double breasted. Fastens with original matching faceted novelty buttons. Inset pockets at hips. Full length flared and cuffed sleeves. Has bright red taffeta facing, other than that is unlined. In very good clean condition, missing belt and each tip of underarm gusset has small rip, will need repairing. Size small-medium. Measures 16" shoulder to shoulder seam, 23" sleeves uncuffed (adjustable due to rolled-up cuffs), 37" bust, 28" waist, free hips, 16" shoulder to waist. For a larger view click here. 1950's Christian Dior Dress Suit

"Christian Dior New York" and "Saks Fifth Avenue" labels. Late 1950's. These 50's Dior items are getting harder to find. This is a classic day suit of worsted dark chocolate colored wool, possibly a wool/silk/mohair blend. The fabric has structure and a thick texture, but is not heavy or stiff. The suit is a bit large on the mannequin, but really is very chic. The dress is fitted, hourglass shaped, with sculptural bow at neckline, back kick pleat on skirt. Dress is lined in matching silk organza and fastens with back metal zipper. The jacket is unfitted, has a decoratively pleated Watteau-style double layer capelet with bow in back, and center pleat. The jacket has pockets above hem, and is lined in matching silk crepe with "Christian Dior" woven into lining. Overall the set is in very good condition. The jacket is in excellent condition. The dress has a tiny hole above the front waist, and the delicate silk organza lining has several rips. Size medium. 1950's Christian Dior Wool Suit Jacket

"Bergdorf Goodman, on the Plaza, New York" label and "Christian Dior" woven into the silk lining. A fitted heavy black wool or cashmere jacket with inset pockets at bust level that have flaps. Sort of an interesting place for pockets! Mandarin style collar, nipped waist. Black silk lining. Faceted black buttons. Excellent condition, although two seams on lining show stress. 1950's Christian Dior Evening Suit

"Christian Dior New York" and "Saks Fifth Avenue" labels. A chic dinner/cocktail suit in black and gold brocade (it almost looks like a leopard print). The fabric feels like a wool and silk blend. The suit consists of a slim, fitted and sleeveless dress with matching "Christian Dior" imprinted belt. The dress is decorated with self covered buttons on front bodice. The jacket has sculptural tailoring with fitted waist, notched collar and hip level pockets with flaps. The sleeves are bracelet or glove length and each sleeve has a single matching button on the slit of the cuff. The jacket is lined in black silk crepe with "Christian Dior" woven into the fabric. The dress is lined in a sheer and sturdy black fabric. The dress fastens with back metal zipper and the jacket fastens with self covered buttons. The suit has a lovely shape to it and is in excellent condition. One thing to note: the label from the dress was either removed or fell off and has been re-sewn onto the jacket above the Saks label at neckline. So, there are two Dior labels on the jacket. Not a problem, but should be mentioned. Also, two of the jacket buttons are getting scuffed from use, they aren't unraveling or fraying yet, but to be watched. The suit is a size small. Dress measures 36" bust, 27" waist, 36" hips, 16" shoulder to waist and 27" waist to hem. 1960's Chester Weinberg Wool Skirt Suit

"Chester Weinberg" and "Mabel*Danahay Buffalo" labels. Gwen Stefani would love this suit! A beautifully constructed fine wool suit obviously Scottish influence, right down to the wrap style skirt with matching wool fringe. The suit is plaid in black, red and teal. The jacket is tailored and fitted, and fastens with hidden large cloth covered snaps. The skirt is slim fitting, wrap style - fastens with large hook and eye, and several cloth covered snaps, and of course finished with the matching wool fringe. The jacket is lined in black silk, the skirt has two linings, the first lining is black silk organza and the second lining is black silk. Looks to be un-worn and in excellent condition, but does have one tiny hole on skirt, below waist, and 2 tiny areas at waist level on the back of the jacket where it looks like something may have been removed - possibly an attached belt?  Size small. Jacket measures 14 1/2" shoulder to shoulder seam, 21 1/2" sleeves, 34-36" bust, 27" waist, 37" hem, 20" shoulder to hem of jacket. Skirt measures 24" waist, 36" hips and is 24" in length.
