1970's Christian Dior Silk Suit

"Christian Dior- New York Inc" label, late 60's to early 70's. This reminds me of the classic traveling suit. Very chic, very Chanel-esque silk suit.  Made of a heavy woven raw silk which hangs very nicely, nice texture. Just a hint of color in cream/beige. Jacket tailored and slightly fitted, a bit of a variation on what was current in men's styles of that day, with large patch style breast and hip pockets, slit sleeve ends with decorative buttons, wide notched lapel and double breasted button placket. The skirt has two hidden metal zippers, one on each side of the skirt. Above the zippers the waist band fastens with hidden hooks and eyes. The jacket and skirt are fully lined in matching cream silk crepe. Very couture, very classic. Suit in excellent condition. Size medium (modern size 8/9) jacket measures 15 3/4" shoulder to shoulder seam, 21 1/2" sleeves, 37" bust, 33" waist, 38" hips, 16" shoulder to waist, 23" shoulder to hem. 1970's Luis Feraud Skirt Suit with Piping

"Luis Feraud Paris, made in West Germany" label. Looks a bit like a stewardess uniform, doesn't it? But it is not. Also has Luis Feraud imprinted on jacket lining, and on buttons of jacket. This navy blue suit with beige piping looks and feels like wool with silk lining, but is actually viscose with polyester lining. But, nice quality. The suit has a slim silhouette, and feminine details that I love. The jacket has a bit of pleating at top of shoulders, for a bit of puff which is very feminine and very much in style. The jacket is slightly fitted, and has a Nehru style collar. Beige piping along all borders. Skirt is long and slim, with beige piping too. Skirt fastens with side nylon zip and Feraud imprinted button. The set is in excellent condition and size small. Jacket measures 15" shoulder to shoulder seam, 23" sleeves, 34" bust, 30" waist, 36" hem and is 20" shoulder to hem. Skirt measures 26" waist, 38" hips, and 29" in length. 1950's NWOT Novelty Print Circle Skirt

"Dan-Bary" label. (New without Tags). Black cotton circle skirt with adorable hat pins print in pink, blue, yellow and green. The skirt fastens with side zipper and button, and is very very full. 1960's Silk Print Spring Coat

"Exclusively Tailored by Sonella's Fashions, Hong Kong" label. You can tell a good coat by it's lining, and this one has just that: a raspberry silk lining with quilting at the sides, very nice. Floral print (looks Thai) in spring colors of pink and green against an off white back. The coat is open front, except for two hidden snaps at collar and an attached front buckle belt done in self fabric. Unfitted coat, large size and in pristine condition. Size large/extra large. 1950's Dayton Oval Room Tailored Tweed Skirt Suit

"The Dayton Oval Room" label, an exclusive shop that sold top designers. This suit is really gorgeous. The wool is so soft it feels like cashmere! The fabric holds it's shape so beautifully, like a couture suit. Done in shades of violet and periwinkle blue with berry red tweed. The jacket is fitted and has beautiful details such as hand bound self covered buttons.  The collar is rounded, and the sleeves are cuffed with little notches. There are four pockets on the jacket, each have a little "belt" with a matching self button, this is a lovely detail. The skirt and jacket are lined in silk. The skirt fastens with side metal zipper with hook and eye. The skirt has a back kick pleat. The suit is in excellent condition. Size small. Jacket measures 15 1/2" shoulder to shoulder seam, 22 1/2" length sleeves, 36" bust, 28" waist, 36" hem, 22" shoulder to hem. Skirt measures 27" waist, 38" hips and is 26" in length.
